    Your Dental Plan

YOUR Dental Plan

We know that most patients would prefer to have the minimum amount of work done in their mouths in order to keep them healthy and pain free. However, the way that dentists have traditionally been paid encourages them to look for work to be done. This places them in conflict not only with what their patients want, but also with their role in preventing disease and reducing the need for treatment.

In order to address these problems, we have introduced our own dental health scheme. For less than £1 per day we offer you two options, the details of which are on the next two pages. Payment for your membership of YOUR Dental Plan is by monthly standing order direct from your bank. Once the order has been set up you can relax and forget about it.

Amongst the many advantages of YOUR Dental Plan are, firstly, it addresses the majority of our patients’ fears and concerns about paying for private dental care; you know from the outset what your dental care will cost and can budget accordingly. Secondly, you need no longer fear having to lose a tooth because you are unable to afford the treatment to have it saved. Thirdly, there is no incentive for us to find additional work. On the contrary, we want to ensure that our efforts in preventing disease really do work. Fourthly, it allows us to give you the time and plan the resources we need in order to give you the best quality care and treatment. It means that we are able to look after you as an individual and not treat you like some unit on a factory production line.

Does the plan cover everything I need?

Your dental plan covers clinically necessary treatment provided within the practice. Depending on which option you choose, it can include most of the usual treatments you are likely to need, such as fillings, cleaning, checkups, preventive care, treatment of gum disorders, root canal treatments and emergency care.

What isn’t covered?

In order to keep the cost of your plan reasonable, it does not cover the less common and more expensive treatments, such as implants, crowns, bridges, dentures or any form of cosmetic treatment, including white fillings in molar and premolar teeth.

In addition, you will be required to pay for any medicines required in your treatment, and if we have to refer you to a private consultant for an opinion or treatment, you will be responsible for payment of their fees. Naturally, if specialist help is required, we will refer you to an NHS consultant first, if at all possible.

For those treatments in excess of £650 which are not covered by your dental plan, we can arrange for you to spread the cost of your treatment.

What if I need treatment now?

We welcome you and are prepared to accept you whatever your present dental state. Although you may be having trouble and need attention now, when most people first register with us, they are not even aware of any problems they may have in their mouths, nor have they ever been shown how to care for their mouths properly. We don’t discriminate against anyone and we are pleased to work with you to help you return to full health as soon as possible.

How much will it cost?

Less than £1 per day – less than a cup of coffee!
